Showing
Conformation showing is not simply a beauty contest, as some would think - although the art of presenting a dog well should not be ignored - but rather the competitive assessment of an individual dogs conformation the the Breed Standard which could be considered the blueprint that defines what makes that breed different to any other.
My first 2 Malamutes, Stan & Maya, never saw a show ring, but after getting the bug with Lucie, all those dogs that followed regularly compete in the UK at both Open and Championship Show
level, as well as sometimes travelling to Europe to compete under FCI regulations.
We all find it an enjoyable day out on a competitive and a social level (and the dogs especially like getting a treat for their hard work and concentration).
Having initially been terrified of being in the ring, I have actually found I quite enjoy handling for other people and have had the opportunity to share time in the ring with some lovely dogs.
To read more about what we have been getting up to in the ring, please select from the menu on the left, including critiques where available and a handling gallery.
For my dogs show pics, please visit the galleries found on their individual pages.
